2. Tense in reporting verbs
1) Present tense: You think the behaviourist approach is still relevant and useful
2) Past tense: You believe the behaviourist approach is no longer relevant.
ex)
Rachel(2002) points out - You indicate that you agree with Rachel
Rachel(2002) have pointed out - Indicates a slight distance(doubt) between your position and that of Rachel
Rachel(2002) pointed out - A greater degree of distance is indicated by the use of the past tense.
